Training Outline

When something goes (terribly!) wrong at a drinking water treatment plant, operators need to find the cause quickly and take the right corrective action to keep water safe and compliant.

This course starts with a structured troubleshooting methodology, then walks through the most common problems operators face: high raw water turbidity, poor coagulation and flocculation, short filter runs, filter breakthrough, disinfection failures, algae and taste and odor issues, and zebra mussels.

You’ll also learn how to deal with corrosion and scaling in distribution systems, pump failures and membrane system problems. The course ends with an escape game where you put your troubleshooting skills to the test.
